Domaine Alain Burguet
Cuvée Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir
Nice nose of spice, mid season cherry, dark rustling leaves, wet moss, dark flowers, and lots of mineral. Terrific depth and ebullience on the nose. Palate is ripe and juicy but a bit one note, lacking in energy and the tannins seem a bit much for the vintage. Let’s see where this goes. The tannins melted away but it was boring and correct.

Sep 8th, 2021A bit old but not too long. There was just an odd flavor in the mid-palate. Some funk blew off after about 30-45 minutes, but the odd almost metallic taste never disappeared.

Apr 30th, 2020Great expression for a village
Old vines
We found a brilliant color
The spectrum of the aromas goes from little red berries to cardamom, coriander a plenty more
A very complex nose leads to a pleasant and enjoyable palate which finishes long in the aftertaste, a bit exotic and very elegant
Very happy with this bottle
First bottle of the Burgundy Course

More mature than expected, but more pleasure, depth, than lighter extraction chez Fourrier, for example.

Jan 12th, 2017Spice up front and on the nose. Dark sour cherry on the palate with Assam tea and acid. However, lacking complexity and depth.

Jul 30th, 2016Took 30 minutes for funk to blow off but what emerged was a lovely, elegantly aged burg. #burgundy #gevreychambertin #pinotnoir
