Lovely. Power and grace, much like its wine maker, this wine will last for decades.

Super fine tannins and great structure paired with a nice Runts candy shell core. Super pleasing and elegant. Seriously yummy juice!

In a word: opulent. Just silky smooth and velvety from start to finish. All red fruit notes on the nose and palate. I would drink these now...no need to hold. But if you must, no longer than 3-4 years more. Love me some old vine Cab!

A medium + intensity of Black fruits (black cherry, black currants) dark chocolate, mint, tobacco and cedar. Nose and palate matching in flavor profile and complexity. Still tight and will just get better with age.

12' Crocker & Starr Stone Place Cabernet. Short decanting & it's ready to go. It's by far the nose of the vacation.

This is why Napa Cabernet brings the big bucks. Inky in the glass with indigo trim, the wine smells of a thousand different feelings at once. Cassis, blackberry, pencil shavings, cedar, vanilla. The palate is just as complex, just as delightful. Very dark fruit goes hand-in-hand with minerals and oak spice. The tannic structure is firm enough to make a vegetarian want a steak. Quite a trick, because, as I understand it, it’s bacon they crave.

I can't tell if this peaked already but it's pretty unbalanced and one dimensional right now. Tasty sure, but no complexity and missing any sign of structure. Blueberry and blackberry liquor, some licorice too. A weird banana cream from the oak.

Do yourself a favor and open this the day before you plan on drinking it. Pour yourself a small 3 ounce pour. Put the cork back in and stick it back in your cellar. The next night you will be rewarded with the best boysenberry pie, smooth finish, well balanced Cabernet you've had in a very long time. Don't decant and don't drink the first day!
