Rollercoaster of orange, pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, clementine and clove. Sweet almond notes intertwine with honeysuckle, honey, bee pollen and mixed marmalade. Orange marmalade prevails on the palate with poached pear and nectarine, quince and beeswax. Excellent in all ways.

Have had only a handful of first growth Sauternes in my lifetime,. This experience was remarkable. Soft butterscotch & mellow pineapple, and white flowers. A knife edge of acidity leading a dense yet lithe medium bodied mouthfeel with an aftertaste lingering forever. Tasted on own after a meal. The 15 yrs of age just deepens the layers of flavors. Wow.

Beautiful. Drink em up! Lovely golden color. Showing some honey and dry extract. A perfect end to a perfect evening (minus the $300 we lost at river rock casino)

I’ve had this puppy on many occasions. I really like (an always have) the 97 Sauternes. This was no exception. Deep golden color. Honeyed stone fruits and fantastic length

Deep golden lemon with a complex bouquet of ripe sweet smoky stone fruits and sweet floral scents. On the palate peach, apricot and honey flavors adding in some nutty sweet oak encompassed by complex botrytis, "noble rot" fruit. Long finish ending with sweet smoky character. Very Nice, best of the tasting! Sample!

Problem with this wine is that comes after 2001. Plenty of botrytis but missing some depth and elegance. Still very enjoyable.

Tasted blind. Dark gold and as heavy as oil as it rolls around in the glass. Notes of apricot and spice, some brown sugar, some sautéed pears and oranges, and a little white stone. Heavy in the mouth. A bit heated and medicinal. Perfectly paired with Grand Marnier soufflés. Great end to a wonderful evening. Thanks Stan!
