Blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby red with aromas of red/black fruits, cigar box and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and ripe black cherry with tobacco, oak and wafts of vanilla. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, cedar and spice. Drinking well will continue to develop, but nice now!

It took 3hrs to reveal its inner self, but when it did, wow.
Exceptional poise, balance and grace. Warm and silky presentation with bold tannins and moderate acidity. Could use more time, but stunning now. Happy birthday, @Rick K

It’s time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious one from France.
Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, coffee, eucalyptus, black pepper, dark chocolates, wet leaves, earth and leather.
Full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, dark chocolates, bitter herbs, vegetables, wet leaves and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.
This young Bordeaux is already drinking very nicely. Needs at least five years to come to its own, and will be better in the next 20 years.
Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel.
Robert Parker 90 points.
This is the second wine from this second growth winery, and from a great vintage.
Very tasty, yet not fully balanced. Needs 3 hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.
A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$65.

This is literally a 2nd Label from a 2nd Growth Grand Cru Classé with a vintage that seats among the great years of Château Montrose. The grapes were very good quality, and further strengthened Montrose’s ultra-precise plot selection, which at times involves multiple passes through a plot to attain optimum ripeness. Unequivocally, the 2nd selection of Château Montrose is marked by the terroir as well (Situated on a well-exposed gravelly land overlooking the Gironde)
The blend composition; Cab Sauv 55 %, Merlot 41 % Petit Verdot 4 % takes you to experience an intense deep red color, a powerful and expressive nose with complex aromas of black fruit, fine oak, a bit caramelized and a hint of pleasant smoky notes as well.
The entrance on the palate is full force and rich, the roundness and harmony are sensed by the mid-rage of the palate as well, the mouthfeel reveals very silky tannins, it provides a great length with some degree of red fruit ripeness on the finish.
This wine V.2015 is still cruising beautifully in its prime time and will continue like this for another 3-5 years with the same tasting profile, and the price point makes it even tastier! Cheers!

Deep color, deep red fruits. Rich nose made of blackcurrant, blackberries, oak, tobacco, leather, earthy, herbs, toasted spices, slight notes of evolution. In the mouth it is supple, deep, and in line with the nose with a beautiful length. Perfect expression of an exceptional vintage.
Robe profonde, fruits rouges profonde. Nez riche cassis, mûres, chêne, tabac, cuir, terreux, aromates, épices toastées, légères notes d’évolution. En bouche c’est souple, profond, et conforme au nez avec une belle longueur. Parfaite expression d’un millésime d’exception.
