This Spaniard should've been laid down for a decade, but life is short! Big elegant and layered tannins. Probably French and American oak- clove and vanilla accented dark red and light black fruits.

2006 vintage: Wow! This wine is as close to perfect as a wine can be! Albert Costa achieves perfection is his and his close friends' old vine vineyards each and every year. This "Ides of March" wine is magnificent with loads of black fruit, minerality from blue slate, freshness from the Garnacha and a long finish. It could easily go another 10-15 years, but this wine is soooo good now, so why wait??!! Paired w homemade chili and cornbread!

Rich, thick, dense. A little hot on the nose, but holds the 15.5abv well. Red and black fruits. Tar. Chocolate. Stony. Has structure but lacking acidity.

All black fruit and leather. Too over extracted for me.

Blackberry, cassis, prune, vanilla, mocha and oak. Good structure and well-integrated tannins.

From a heralded vintage in Priorat, this baby didn't disappoint. Great fruit, juicy acidity, loads of minerality and tannins still young but well constructed.

WOW! This is the stuff my wine dreams are made of - 11 years old and still spicy, crunchy, and full of life. Easily could lay down 3-5 more years. Tasted like the rocky face of a red rock mountain. Taught and craggy, sharp as a tack.
