Tasted blind & I whiffed on all my guesses- because I had forgotten lithe, elegant, Burgundy like sappiness CAN come from Priorat, & especially this producer, Palacios. I adore their cheaper bottlings too, for very much the same reasons. With air it’s rose petals & ripe cherries for days on the nose, & a perfectly balanced palate of ripe dark cherries, but also some gaminess which made me think Northern Rhone at first. A real treat, especially for Spanish nay-sayers — a month ago
Decent Priorato - really looking for more of that schisty slate minerality, but it delivers on drinkability. Red & black fruited nose, some smoke & peppery, a bit feisty - palate is smooth & sumptuous, medium + body, smooth tannins w/decent structure. Loads of fruit & spice on palate, balanced w/some length on finish. For a ‘17 - only mi or bricking on edge, still youthful — a month ago
Blend of mostly Garnatxa and Carinena, aged in American oak, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, spice and oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and raspberry with vanilla, smoky cedar and licorice. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak, sweet spice and earthy mineral character. Nice! — a month ago
Mid to dark Ruby in colour. Black and Red fruits - aromatics of blackberry, note of raspberry, earthy and sandy notes. A medium to full bodied palate - rich and enduring. Costers de Vinyes Vielles comes from the company’s oldest vines. A blend of 110 year old Carinena (55%) and 90 year old Garnacha (45%). Aged for 16 months in French oak. One of the 1001 Wines. 14.5% ABV. Love Priorat wines after our visit in 2022. — 2 months ago
Vino excelente de la D.O.Priorat, un blend de Garnacha, Syrah y Cabernet Sauvignon. De color picota oscuro, aromas de fruta negra madura con notas herbales, florales, espaciados y minerales. Entrada potente, carnoso. Final largo y persistente — 22 days ago
Beautiful blanc / blush transparent pink - white in the glass.
Just a classy clean bouquet with aromas of raspberry, peaches, and the light waft of fresh bread.
Nice mousse, not overpowering. Monastrell comes through. Big, unencumbered, and inconspicuously fresh and bold. Peaches and raspberries with a light bready character. Cherries. — 9 days ago

Not really my kind of wine, but I can certainly appreciate the complexity and elegance here. The only caveat is that it does smack you in the face with reductive, gassy aromas at this stage. It redeems itself on the palate with sweet, concentrated dark fruit flavours, and heaps of spicy and earthy notes. Medium bodied with dusty tannins. Finishes long, earthy, and somewhat juicy, with a hint of oak. First encounter with this winery and will certainly keep an eye out for their wines in the future. — 3 months ago
