Another weekly wine Committee lunch that I was able to attend, hosted by @Weston Eidson & @Colby Siratt . Excellent job, fellas! All wines tasted blind as usual.

This wine was extremely enjoyable as well. Wondered if it was a Zin at first, and then went to Malbec...neither was right. Very complex. Dark. Peppercorn, black licorice, plums, violet.

Priorat Red Blend 2010

Wow, loved this. Black/red fruits, raisinated, baked, fruits, no new oak, high booze, medium plus tannins and medium acid. Paired great with bbq chicken. I could have mistaken for amarone/ripasso, but this likely has more tannin. Well balanced. Need more! — 4 days ago

Nice red purple color. Thin on the edge already. Complex nose with a lot going on. Red fruit, leather, forrest, fall, silky mouth feeling, sweets, blueberries, still some tannins. Great wine!

Tirant Priorat Grenache Blend 2001

Ripe fruits, wet rocks, petrichor, grilled mushrooms, dried herbs. Notes of ripe plum on the palate. Unlike most Priorat, it's only 25% Grenache. The rest comes from Samsó (Carignan), Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot which explains the amount of tannins left even after sitting in the bottle for 16 years. Macadamia and marzipan on the finish. Give it at least 1 hour in a decanter. — 10 days ago
