A good example of weak West Coast Pinot to stay away from. Thin, and one dimensional.

Founded in 1857, CA’s 1st premium winery. The winery, under direction of Jeff Stewart, produces some very nice offerings. Vivid Ruby with aromas of red fruits and floral spice. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors, zesty, with savory herbs, balanced, and fine tannins. The finish is medium and ending with beefy earthy tones. Good value.

Pinot noir is the king for a reason. This is a very nice example. A bit more pepper than expected.

The winery's roots date back to 1969 in a small area known as Carneros. Light Ruby with aromas of red fruits and floral spice. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with sweet herbs, balanced acidity and fine tannins. The finish is medium and ends with earthy tones.

I was afraid this wine was well past its prime and in fact it is but it is still outstanding Lovely nose of dark berries. Very soft tannin with a little fruit in between to a pleasant finish. The wine still has a nice ruby color and the cork came out in one piece. Good cellar

We visited this winery many times when we lived in SF. Fruity and rich, high alcohol, moderate but clear oak profile, soft tannins, and long uncomplicated finish dominated by the high alcohol and acidity.

Buena vista is always reliable Carneros Pinot Noir, and this bottle is no exception. It has the dark cherry with slight smoke flavor that you associate with Carneros and a little bit more acid than most wines from that region, but still very California.

This is fine, but I am struggling to remember the last Carneros Pinot I got excited about. I'm sure they're our there.
