Arnot-Roberts
Sonoma Coast Syrah
After 4 days under vinvac it has blossomed Flowers, blackberries, hints of sage and earth are ethereal on the nose and the palate is structured with fruit and crushed rocks. Really cool. Was a little hesitant when it was all meat on day one through three.

Oct 29th, 2024Beautifully balanced Syrah. Nose has bright, ripe tiny red berry fruit, spiced raw beef, graphite, and a floral note. In the mouth itβs concentrated yet light on its feet and soft. Nice amalgam of sandstoney minerality and red berry fruit. Very nice acidity. Lingering finish. Nicely judged.

Dec 5th, 2022Drinking in a beautiful place. Pure and transparent with enough sanguine structure to pair well with hunk of steak I threw against it.

Dec 1st, 2020Fantastic! Drank over two days and watched it grow up a bit. Came out of the bottle a little coy but really came alive. Medium bodied but with a meaty, greasy flavor, underpinned with wildflowers and spice. Terrifically balanced with lots of depth.

Mar 14th, 2019Too young and too much purple fruit. I could hear it saying 'let me grow up a little'. Nonetheless... delicious.

Sep 1st, 2018This was a treat. I brought this as a classic style of Syrah from Sonoma Coast for blind tasting night. Bright overtone red fruit, light funkiness, grilled meat character, and dried lavender. They may not have been known first for their Syrah, but they sure are ridiculously delicious. Worth every penny, and this one was a lil young, so worth aging as well.

Aug 21st, 2018The 2016 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is dazzling. Inky and dark in its fruit profile, but also light on its feet, the 2016 is all class. Hints of lavender, black pepper, mint and cloves grace the palate in an exquisite, mid-weight Syrah that emphasizes freshness and nuance. Deceptively medium in body, the 2016 has enough underpinnings of structure to drink well for many years. This is a fabulous appellation-level Syrah. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, April 2018)

Apr 26th, 2018Team drinks at Aldo Sohm's wine bar continues with this Syrah from Arnot Roberts. My view is that pretty much everything these guys make is delicious. This bright, dark fruits, bacon fat, rich, enveloping wine is beguiling. One sip requires a second, and necessitates a third, until the glass is empty.
