A fine example of late-harvest #Riesling that is nearly ten years old and beautifully evolved--honeycomb and tropical fruit notes with ample botrytis flavors leave a lasting, very clean impression. #Knebel#WinningerRöttgen#spätlese#Mosel — 9 years ago
A classic #Eiswein from a very underrated vintage made by one of the #Mosel's finest late-harvest #Riesling specialists--Beate #KNEBEL--BRAVA! — 11 years ago
Vintage comparison 06 and 07: the noble vineyard #WinningerRöttgen is a dizzyingly steep site planted by the Romans ages ago and yields wines of great concentration and intensity that are blessed with firm acidity that guarantees a long life in the bottle. Both wines were lovely and indicative of their respective vintage characteristics. The 06 was a total #botrytis bomb that leaped out of the glass, while the 07 was much less forthcoming and seemed far less evolved than the 06. So the answer is simple--drink the 06 now and the 07 when that runs out. #Knebel#2007#riesling
