Nose: raspberry, blackberry, cassis (?), dust. Subtle herbs, the kind you’d find in some kind of health food herbal tea for what ails you. A little leather.
Taste: absolutely delicious. Weighty, tastes as it smells, but bigger and juicier more red fruit than the nose - yet very balanced, with lots of mineral flavors besides. Not as complex as the very best I’ve had, but extremely tasty. A little more toasty coffee on the palate as you sip it. I may like this better than the Shafer I had recently. 94.

Consistently great wine. Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, dark berry, dark cherry, currants, cinnamon and spice, dark chocolate and smoked oak. On the palate, rich and full bodied, jammy fruits, dark berries and cherry, dark chocolate, hints of cinnamon, balsamic and espresso, smokiness/smoked oak. Long finish with hints of smoked citrus rind. Nice, chewy tannins. — 3 years ago
Château d’Yquem Sauternes 2005: Pure elegance! Liquid gold! Absolutely stunning! Sweet & well balanced. Golden orange in color. Intense honey, orange & peach aromas. Honey, apricot, peach, tangerine, almond & caramel flavors. Incredibly long & fulfilling finish. This was my first time drinking this premier Bordeaux wine; it was like no other I’ve ever tasted and wow what a memorable experience. Absolutely wonderful. It was bold, structured and ultra elegant. Best Sauternes vintage? Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago

A delightful well balanced white wine. Bright, a little tart, a little stony, would totally seek out. — 3 years ago
