After pop-n-pour: not giving much. Clenched, reticent.
After two hours this is still tight, but starting to show blackberries, black cherries, smoke, cedar and ink.
Approachable, better to wait a few more years and let it turn into something beautiful. — 3 years ago
This is undoubtedly next level but still in its larval stage. The youngest Togni I’ve opened and I consumed it solo over 2 days of the weekend. Much more expressive on day 2. Black cherry, cacao and saddle leather are there but it is reluctant right now. I’m not a score guy but I believe AG or RP gave this 100 points. Hold for a minimum of 10 years if you have the patience and space. Don’t get me wrong it is very good, it just hasn’t developed yet in to what makes his wines so damn special. — 7 years ago
Tasted from magnum, the 2013 Cristal Rosé is ravishing. Dense, creamy and powerful, the 2013 captures all the qualities of the vintage, specifically the interplay of rich fruit from the warm summer and cooler inflections from a year that started late and ended late with a rare October harvest. Today, the 2013 is deep and beautifully seamless, but it is also young – far too young to be at its best. Dosage is 6.5 grams per liter, a bit less than for the standard bottlings, a decision taken to balance longer aging on the lees and a bit more residual sugar that is always left in the magnums after fermentation. Readers who can find the 2013 in magnum will experience one of the greatest thrills in wine. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2024)

2013 vintage. Very profound berry nose. Very sweet tannins drinks beautifully now but clearly early. Absolutely an expensive blockbuster. — 8 years ago

Amazing what a good champagne can taste like at 11 years. Completely fresh and crisp with just a slight softness. Delicious! As far as value, let’s not go there. — 6 months ago
