Sep 4th, 2017Gorgeous. Red and blue fruits, resolved tannins, leather, beautiful acidity, lengthy finish. Coffee, hints of earth. Strong and supple. Everything to to hope for in a wine.

1997- best vintage in fifty years it was said at the time. Definitely developed; candied nuts, wet leather, sweet cinnamon spice, rum, dried cherry, stewed plums, earthy and acetic acid. Go now with these, would drink by 2020.

Gorgeous. Baking spices, black currants, bottle bouquet. In a very pretty spot at 20 years. Subtle green note persists. More time in the glass didn't move it forward.
