Good right out the bottle and stayed that way for a couple of days. What a nice grape! Very underrated. Medium body with a bit of spice. Sweet with a balanced tannin. Day 2 showed more acidity which improved it further. Excellent vino. — 8 days ago
Peaking right now, don’t wait: amber bricking on edge, black & red fruit - deep reservoir of ripe intense aromas & flavors, baking spices, worn leather, licorice, mineral - so expressive, massive on palate, beautifully balanced, tamed from so many years in bottle. Perfect accompaniment to my Saturday night T-Bone — a month ago
Among the best that Ribero del Duero offers. Benefits from a generous decant for a wonderful waft in the glass — 18 days ago
From 60-year old vines, medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral, sweet spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, cherry and currants with mushroom and leather notes. Fine tannins with racy acidity, great mouthfeel on a long finish. Ok now but a bit of bottle age will reward. Organic. — 23 days ago

Since moving to Barcelona, I’ve been looking for wines that dare to use varietals that are not the same handful of French clones one sees all over the world. I’m also looking for lighter wines, which my wife prefers. This fit the bill perfectly: 100% Mencía @ 13.5% ABV and highly recommended by the botiga in my barri. Delicate and earthy. Hints of ripe plums and peppercorns. — 6 days ago
