Old School Meritage style, opulent, just flat out fantastic and punches way above its weight class. At 6 yrs old it is still a baby - going to find more to age — 4 months ago

Good Times, Bad Times Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Englishman Jonathan Maltus (of La Dome) Napa project. Nose shows blackcurrant, plum, cassis, pencil shavings, and clove with a herbaceous undertone. Juicy with medium to full body. Velvety tannins. Stylish, but lacking a bit of depth and complexity. — 3 months ago

Bacigalupi Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

Still delicious and has changed less with age than I expected. Not sure if I should have sat on it longer. It has gotten nuttier with hazelnut becoming more prominent. Still a lot of oak and lemon, with a touch of flint and brioche. It’s — 4 months ago

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

This is a delicious 9 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing red and black fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates and light vegetables.

Feels like a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of earthiness.

Needed 2 hours to open up properly.

Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

Delicious, soft and elegant.

A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec.

Tasmania Pinot Noir 2024

Pale and young. My first 2024 wine. From a reputable producer but not worth the $86 (restaurant wine list) we paid. — 3 months ago

Château Beychevelle

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

Another oldie, probably just past its peak. 38 years old - not bad! Barn-sided red with some brick on the edge. Lots of cedar, graphite, black pepper and cigar ash to smell but little fruit. Nice smooth tannins, still a little puckering. Medium acidity. For flavor there are some darker berries and red cherry notes. It’s a nicely balanced wine. Good length on the finish. — 9 months ago
