Incline Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2013

Purple, light to moderately extracted, very good clarity. Blackberry and barrel smoke notes in nose. Cranberry, blackberry flavors with a touch of canned green veggie. Some seed tannin bitterness, light skin astringency. Crisp, austere. Minerality and cherry skin emerge within 30 minutes while veg note disappears. — 8 days ago

I can’t believe I forgot to rate this!! The color is extraordinary. So bright and full of sun. It is cloudy and has a very creamy body. Lemon, lime, white pepper, arugula, lees. Delicious. — a month ago

Wonderful Riesling. Honeysuckle and floral nose. Some dried stone fruit on the palate but soft and well rounded. Honey on the finish. This is not a sweet Riesling. Goes well with roast chicken. Equally delish with spicy foods. — 16 days ago

Willamette Valley Rosé of Pinot Noir 2016

Surprise! Archery Summit had some rose cases and I bought one...and forgot about it. Went out to the winery today and got a big bonus! Love this rose. One of the best in Oregon. Beautiful wine. — 2 days ago

Big Table Farm

Wirtz Vineyard Pinot Noir

Set on roughly 13 acres, the Wirtz Vineyard is located in Gaston, and is planted to 40-year-old Pinot Noir vines. Not needing any air contact, this opens right up and releases its seductive aromas that grip you immediately. On the palate this marvelously textured Pinot Noir possesses a silky mouthfeel that glides effortlessy through the mid-palate as flavors of red and dark fruits connect with earthy and citrus tones. This amazing Pinot Noir from winemaker Brian Marcy has it all and while it is showing sensational right now, it should also offer a drinking window that spans a decade or more. Decanter. A bit of reduction and wood spice which is well-handled gives this otherwise dark and freshly fruited Pinot some complexity and intrigue. Good acidity though rich, this is powerful and very young. — 14 days ago

Domaine Serene

Evenstad Reserve Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2013

The 2012 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir is a gorgeous showing. Upon opening, this was initially a bit restrained, but after a few hours of air contact it blossomed with aromas of mushroom, forest floor and red cherry. The palate yields delicious flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry, with nice depth and minerality. This rock solid Pinot has the richness and balance of a great vintage, but should really be held in the cellar for two years before opening. Aged 16 months in French oak, 63% new.
