Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2018

Over the weekend we opened the 2018 David Paige Wines Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. From Carlton, Oregon and a blend of grapes from Chehalem Mountains, Ribbon Ridge and Eola-Amity Hills.

On the nose there was strawberry, cranberry, cherry, clove, mushroom, hibiscus, vanilla and earth.

On the palate there is tart cherry, raspberry, cranberry, clove, mushroom, vanilla and earth.

This is a medium bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that moves easily into a long red fruit earthy finish. A very nice expression of Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Have a wonderful week ahead and my it be positive and productive. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Willamette Valley Rosé of Pinot Noir 2020

Pale salmon color with aromas of fruit and floral notes. Fermented bone dry in stainless steel, on the palate flavors of strawberry and cherry, some citrus notes wrapped in vivid acidity. Smooth character, not overpowering, medium finish ending with a floral mineral character. — a day ago

Hyland Vineyard Riesling 2017

Elegant dry Riesling from Oregon. Candies citrus on the nose, but dry and with a somewhat bitter aftertaste on the palate. Medium bodied and quite in the mouth. Somewhat like an Alsatian Riesling, but really its own thing. — 8 days ago

Fruity nose of raspberries, strawberries, cherries, spices, light herbs, citrus, limes and light vegetables.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, earth, spices, citrus, pears, red apples, minerals and white pepper.

Nice finish with spices and limes.

This is a very tasty Rosé from Oregon. Nicely balanced with a soft and elegant mouthfeel.

Good by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity and very easy to drink, so watch out.

I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

100% Pinot Noir grapes. Unfiltered and unfined. A small production of only 450 cases.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Fruity nose of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, light tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and thin legs.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, light oak, spices, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.

Tangy finish with fine tannins and sour cranberries.

This is a nice and elegant Pinot Noir from Oregon. Fresh and fruit forward. Light and engaging.

Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. A good porch wine. Will be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. I gave it a light chill, and paired it with fresh berries, cheeses and crackers.

100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in French oak barrels (15% new) for 8 months.

13% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Tasted blind and kept thinking it was Barbaresco, save for the very integrated soft tannins. Huge compliment. Very tertiary, red fruit is in the background with lots of organic earth, lifted nose, so much complexity. Beautiful!! — a day ago
