Isolation Ridge Vineyard Riesling 2014

Citrus blossom, white flowers, and talc as aromatics. On the palate, citrus, citric acid with a chalky texture. Very little TDN if any. A classic Australian dry Riesling still with a long life to develop tertiary characteristics. The following night a skerrick of peach becoming apparent on the palate. Most enjoyable. The Great southland a reliable terroir for Riesling. — 15 days ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

2022 vintage. First 2022 third-tier, Napa cab for me. Light-medium body. Well made. Needed a bit more finish and length of said. For the resto price ($70)...no. 11.27.24. — 24 days ago

Filius Margaret River Chardonnay 2020

Somewhat lush and fat up front, plenty of acidity to balance, more depth and complexity than the Xanadu, medium-long finish. — 24 days ago

Moss Wood

Moss Wood Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Medium bodied, light acidity, a little dry. Bouquet opens up to notes of dark berries, plum, leather, liquorice, tobacco. Well integrated tannins. Pleasant to drink! — a month ago

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2023

2023 vintage. Maan, do I feel old reviewing this! Sourced from some eminently notable vineyards. Wine rolls up and down and back up again throughout the palate...almost as if you are tasting each vineyard source as stages vs a blend. Def interesting. Light-medium body. May hafta pick this up as a list placement as it is drinking nicely. Absolutely blowing through Oregon pinot tho. Resto pricing at $19 btg (waay too low) and woulda jumped on it but have another CA pinot currently btg that's an even better deal. 11.27.24. — 24 days ago

Vasse Felix

Margaret River Chardonnay 2017

This is the 2nd rated Vasse Felix Chardonnay behind the world class Heytesbury and ahead of the amazing value Filius. This was my last 2017 having made no notes for the first two. Expresses everything which is great about Margaret River Chardonnay. Complexity without cost. Ripe grapefruit with a balanced creamy French oak note which is largely integrated at 7 years of age. More citrus than stone fruit - a little nectarine? Great QPR at $31 AUD. — 21 days ago

@Bob McDonald, I wish I could find this and the Heytesbury here on the U.S. West Coast — Vasse Felix really does great stuff at such low price points!!

Corona Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

On the pour dusty chocolate nose, becoming more prevalent on the swirl, body full with red & black fruit accompanied by soft tannins that framed the fruit nicely with medium long finish. No need for lime with this Corona. — 25 days ago
