Suuper reductive, with funky notes of petrol and sour cream. Quite spritely too - almost lemonade-like. The palate is intense, concentrated, powerful and acidic and honestly quite inscrutable at this stage. Wow, this is a serious Riesling that demands patience. 90++ — 3 years ago

My first time with this vntg. More spatlese on the nose than GG: lovely guava and mango, a touch of saffron, lychee, so tropical and dense. On the palate: good acidity and density: sour apple, lemon, here we get the GG extract and density. This intensifies in the mouth and has considerable density on the finish. Yum. Less well-delineated than '15 forward, and, unsurprisingly, showing more signs of age. — 5 years ago

Vintage 2017 | tasted at the domaine after a series of dry 2022 and I was blown away! At home retasted with chicken in jelly/aspic as starter. Same feeling. One of many wines I bumped into when reorganizing my cellar. A real Aha!-experience and an old-time favorite.
Light and bright yellow in the glass. Subtle complexity. Mouthwatering hints of green tea, jasmin, ginger, white pepper, lemonpeel, white peach and wet rocks. Drinking beautifully now, and the following decade.
Wonderful balance between sweetness, freshness, salinity and acidity. This is all about refinement. A classic Mosel beauty. 😍 — 4 years ago
