Vitis Quimera

Achával-Ferrer

Quimera Mendoza Malbec Blend 2021

A blend of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, aged in French oak 65% new and 35% 1 year old, fruit sourced from Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruit, earthy and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and tart cherry flavors, with vanilla, licorice, citrus and herb spice. Fine tannins, well balanced long finish ending with tart fruit and a sweet earthy mineral character. Nice! A Fav! — a month ago

Elena Walch

Alto Adige Schiava 2021

Another if the nearly 1400 vitis vinifera grape varietals, from a producer I love ❤️.
Schiava is a white wine dressed up as a red wine, like a pretty girl dressed up at Halloween as a male figure, say David Bowie or Michael Jackson

Lignum Vitis

Terre Siciliane Frappato Shiraz 2021

Pale ruby in color; black cherries, tabacco, and potting soil on the nose; high acidity, medium plus tannins; tastes like dried strawberries, raspberries, bkackberry jam, and wet slate with a long finish. I really like this wine. Nellie likes it too. — 6 months ago

Roagna

Pajè Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2016

Couldn’t resist opening one of the newly arrived 2016 Pajès from Roagna. It opens with an earthy/clay nose and is a translucent brick red in the glass. Hints of rose, cherry, cocoa and red berries mixed with sharp, drying tannins. High potential and glad to have a benchmark while I lay a few more of these and some Vecchi Vitis down for a while. — 3 years ago
