Medium-dark ruby hue. Aromas of blackberry, cassis, earthy, plum, tar. Plus body, full tannins, plus acid. Structured with a long finish. Beautiful bouquet. Needs more time to soften, but drinking well now. Solid value for a Left Bank Bordeaux. 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. — a year ago
Opened August 28 2021 on our 35th anniversary. We had brought this bottle back from champagne in the 1990s and kept in the cellar. Magnum was in perfect condition and distinguished pop with golden color and fine hue and brut taste —a couple years less than our wedding but still going strong. — 4 years ago
Oldest in the Penfolds portfolio, Wine includes fruit from Barossa, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Clare and Wrattonbully vineyards, aged 12 months in American oak, 7% new. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits and sweet spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with cacao, espresso and vanilla oak. Vivid acidity, rich ripe fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and a bit of spice, very nice! Good value with aging potential. — 2 months ago
Medium lemon color with aromas of tropical, stone and citrus fruits adding mineral notes, aged 10 months in 28% new oak. On the palate flavors of pineapple, peach and lemon citrus wrapped in smooth spicy tones. Long finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, notes of flinty mineral and savory citrus character. Nice! — a year ago
Pretty color of dark red with a wide reddish rim.
On the nose cherries, sweet strawberries, light oak, spices and dark chocolates.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, black cherries, light oak, tobacco, licorice, earth, coffee, light alcohol, herbs and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Sierra Foothills. Fruit forward, soft and elegant.
Nicely balanced and complex, but Needed an hour to open up.
This 6 year old is starting to drink nicely now, and will improve in the next few years.
Easy drinking and good by itself.
Aged in American oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Best on Day 2. The 2018 pours a deep purple color with an impenetrable core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe black and red fruits: brambles, tobacco, purple flowers, dill, vanilla, baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and pretty decadent with a velvety texture. Drink now through 2033. — 22 days ago
