Great way to end the busiest day in history. Tropical, maderized, so shockingly blanc des blancs.

Rich and lengthy, a very multi-faceted wine that really takes you on a journey through layers and layers. I dig the oak profile this shows, found it really highlighted the earthy notes this wine had. 7/2015 disgorgement

It's not demure. Vibrant gold in the glass with an impeccable mousse. The nose is intense and admittedly a challenge to describe. Lemon zest, candied orange peel. Lemon tart or lemon curd. A sneaky high note of menthol and I swear just slightly, pleasantly oxidized. On the palate tart apple, pear but mostly the verve of it hits you. Salinity, crushed shell and minerality. It's incredibly lush and at the same time, focused. Subtle note of almond paste on fine, long finish. Wow.

It got better as the night progressed, always a sign of amazing champagne. Left it in the glass and as it opened up and got down to room temperature it got better and better.
