Bought 2014 from Domestique on 1/28/19 per recommendation in lieu of Catalan grapes. $25. Drank 1/30/19. Acid and tannin galore. Splendid fruit at front and back. Lean not sweet. Astringent. Lower alcohol means structure just a bit off. Ruby red with black meniscus. Again on 4/11/19 with Ron & Jenny. Even better. With chilie. — 6 years ago
Cotes de Catalan red with Guinea Fowl at Spring. Excellent fruit, not the graininess I can find in Grenache/Carignan reds at times. — a year ago

A curious nose with touches of fig and floral notes, herbs, nice fresh fruit notes, on the palate ripe delicate fruit a touch of minerality, and a good acidity! Now 93DSP — 6 years ago
Catalan wine tasting #8
Amazing complex nose, slightly fruity, more animalistic, mineral, earthy.
Dark cherry, black rock, leather, wild herbs, cold roast.
Amazing on the palate. With great precision, concentration and yet freshness. Insane!
And depth. Great depth and character!
Spicy, fresh, juicy with great purity.
Absolutely stunning! A truly elegant, complex, profound wine!
Needs 6h breathing but does not disappoint! — 2 years ago
Nice Catalan Cava - salut y forsa canut! — 4 years ago
The most storied houses of Catalan often show the best value (opposite is the case in Champagne). It’s like they’ve been in the game long enough to know how to most efficiently make great sparkling wine. Raventos (like the Mure wines from Alsace) is one of these houses.
Soft, fruity, and fine. Splash of Monastrell for nuance. — 6 years ago
