V Vouvray Chenin Blanc

Was looking for a better Chardonnay than the California style, which I have tired of and this vouvray was recommended. Well, I have to agree. This 2017 was opened April 2019 for pork tenders and baked acorn squash. It was dry, a bit of butter, definitely Peach but not at all sweet. I like the French chenin blanc and this definitely will do at this time ! — 12 days ago

Fusion V Stellenbosch Red Blend 2015

Very nice, smokey blend, very much in the Burgundy style but with some nice Stellenbosch fruit. Good bottle now but some nice ageing potential. — 19 days ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2015

Dark purple in color with a short purple rim.

Light nose of blueberries, currants, plums, oak, licorice, spices, espresso, red candy, cola, vegetables, leather, earth, black tea and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, smoke, tobacco leaf, vegetables, vinaigrette, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee and black pepper.

Long tangy finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a young Syrah from Northern Rhône. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and nice complexity.

Good by itself or with food. Better after 2 hours of airtime when it shows the tannins.

Still young and needs another 5 to 10 years of additional bottle time.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers, but it was really good with Brie cheese.

100% Syrah grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 6 months.

13% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$30.

Sattui Family California Red Blend

One of my early favorites and still very enjoyable. Not the greatest value for the price, a little bright for my favorite taste, but if I didn’t buy it on site, I’d think it a wonderful find. Compared to their step up / pricier but MUCH more worth the price, it’s hard to choose this Sangiovese blend over their beautiful meritage and Napa cab options. — a month ago

Black Sears Vineyard Zinfandel 2014

Delicious zin from the top of Napa. Dark plum and chocolate with a great mouth feel. Could have kept it cellared for another 5 years, but it was a great pairing for some BBQ. — 15 days ago

'The V' Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Nice, smooth Cab. A little pricey in my opinion but still nice. The owner is the nicest guy and he does make some pretty decent juice. — 7 days ago
