Killer nose that is deep and resonant. Unreal dark red cherries that border on black. Such purity. Just stunning. Nose is airy and so deep. Sick. Better aromas than 19 Narbantons. Blueberry, flowers, so lush, so deep. Just wonderful. 9.6 nose. Palate has insane energy and just absurd fruit. Sapid, energetic and so concentrated. Wow this is so good. The depth is off the charts and the tannins cut like a saber but remain velvety and sweet. What a wine. Stunning depth and freshness and red/blue/black fruits. My god the tannins on 23 Girards are stunning. This is a remarkable year for Girard. Unreal wine. — 4 days ago

In an amazing place. Nose has some reduction which will blow off but man o man that palate. The acid is just so intense and layered, juicy and explosive fruit like you cannot believe. Just cracking! So tasty. It’s got an urgency on the palate that makes this so special. Sappy for days and unreal velvety and mineral drenched tannins. My goodness this is brilliant. Nose has some smoke and leather as well. Unreal freshness. I mean the freshness is like young dry Riesling. Genius stuff and in the window. Let’s see what air does. — a month ago

Complex nose of spice, early to mid season cherries and tons of limestone. Needs air but so pretty for such a humble wine. Unreal fruit on the palate. Dense and explosive with great purity and superb minerality. Really impressive but does need air. 21 Pinots from Germany and so transparent but do need air. I will be back. Good concentration and sapidity with air. Lots of raspberry coulis today. 9.1 to 9.2 overnight. — 4 months ago

Huge expressive nose of milk duds, watermelon jolly rancher, sour cherries, dark cherries, lemon flower? Earth and mineral and stunning aromatic lift but is holding something back. Wow that’s kinky with unreal concentration and tiny berry fruit intensity. More complex. Darker red cherries, strawberry jam. It’s the texture, it’s the tannins, it’s the perfectly judged acidity. Woodshop aromas. The sweetness is so insane. It’s so elegant. The tannins are late breaking and fierce but sweet and pearly. — 12 days ago

An amazing vintage here. Nose is a bit funky out of the gates but wow once it gets going it’s all red cherries, sour cherries, and wild herbs. So so good. Really lifted. Palate is mega closed but my goodness rhys is super precise and focused. Like a laser. Unreal freshness and acidity and barely ripe sour cherry and early season cherry fruit. Insane velvety and sour/sweet tannins. Wine as sweet tart. This needs air. It’s got the bones but I will check back in an hour or two. Oh this is getting better but it’s gonna be slow. Angular and dense but so balanced. That Rhini structure abounds. — 5 hours ago

WE ARE SO BACK! Best Beliando since 15 and is it better? Maybe! Haunting nose of blackberry and blueberry but so crystallized. Unreal fruit character and depth. Crazy granite. Such a deep nose but 10.0 on the clarity. Gorgeous herbs like lavender, rosemary and thyme and just unreal soft clay is only way I can describe it. Unreal decaying leaves and so much granite. 9.9 nose. Just insane. Palate is massive and initially it’s brutally closed but man what a wine. Powerhouse of a palate with raspberry/blueberry/blackberry crystallized fruit. Big tannins and so primary now but wow this is so so good. Unreal concentration, depth and complexity but showing 5% of itself. 9.6 now but as this wine and frigid night in NYC develop@it will get higher. Getting sappier with air and the fruit is so 19. Decadent yet crystallized. Now some sweet green olive on the nose. Ethereal violets, the level of crystallized, clear fruit on the nose is the most precise ever on any beliando. Nose is 9.9999 now. Huge power, depth and concentration and just outrageously rich, decadent yet energetic black raspberry, with almost a pastille element and just outrageous concentration. The finish just echoes and echoes with that ethereal finesse. This is a benchmark Beliando. 9.6 to 9.8 now. — 3 months ago

So good. 22’s rounding into the form I had from barrel in June 23. Unreal cherry clarity on the nose and super floral. Pungent. Palate is so good. Opulent sweet fruit but all so chiseled. Juicy and just gorgeous clarity of fruit here. Sick inner mouth aromas. Such finesse and softness but structured softness. Unreal velvet texture. Let’s see what air does. Glorious nose of apricot, peach and minerals. Very pretty. Smells like if the ocean was made of Riesling. Palate is gorgeous and a bit backwards with pink grapefruit, tangelo and apricot. Gorgeous purity and depth. Killer acidity but needs to come together. Nose gets herbal with air. Also some spice. Palate has great concentration and such an intense mineral sheen. Juicy and linear and wonderful delineation on the finish. Nose is confectionary beyond. Wet, damp earth. Salty, juicy, clean. So ludicrous. Succulent. This is killer on day 2. Wow. So concentrated and deep. Unreal tension. 9.6 9.7 overnight. The sap and intensity are world class. — 17 days ago

Absolutely killer out of the bottle. On the 23 now and this is in the perfect spot. So opulent yet chiseled and such precision. It’s silly how beyond Bourgogne Blanc this is. Nose almost like Chablis. Unreal purity and balance. Chewy, dense and concentrated but a lemon drop quality and unreal structure. This has a decade left in the tank. What a finish. Gorgeous nose. Unreal cherry vivacity. Also a hint of aromatic creaminess. I can see the colors! Lovely intense and driving minerality and ultra precise. My oh my is this juicy and precise. Unreal clarity of fruit. Just scintillating. So nimble and clear. So well made. Ultra refined and powdery tannins and just gorgeous purity. Holding back but I will be here all night folks. Now with air the finesse is picking up as is the focus. This is truly great Pinot! — 5 months ago
