Loved it. Too bed Jeff retired. — 3 months ago
Despite its age, this was fantastic. Part of a three year vertical. Looking forward to the ’05 and ‘06. Thanks to el Jefe. — 8 months ago
Still very dark for a 15 year old red. Smells like berry-plum sauce and leather. Bit of wet gravel and flint. Flavors are lovely and elevated. Black currants. A hint of cola nut. Licorice drops. This is quite an elegant and lovely red. Could age longer. Beefy but with a velvet glove. — 2 months ago
Rustic nose, with mushrooms, iron, red meat, slightly crunchy read fruit, rose florals and maybe even a hint of crisp red apple. Medium body, and a dark, deep ruby or rose color. Palate is zingy with hints of blood orange, high quality balsamic, honestly bubble gum or some sort of candied flavor, piñon wood, with dark chocolate (like cacao) and a little tar and burnt fennel at the finish. Whew, this is rich and fun, but not so high ABV or weight that it’s overwhelming. — 8 months ago
Suggested at Grand Cata on 11/29/2024 when I asked for Ribera sacra bzw. Galicia. $30. L noted Chambers had shipped same wine! Likely natural then, though lacking that liveliness. Drank 11/30/2024. Ash, bubble gum on nose. Puckett tannins will likely settle down with time and warmth. Black fruit, violets, gravel/slate. Long strong finish lingers. — a year ago
