Château Buera – Brut Sparkling 2021 (Tsitska) Imereti – Georgia 🇬🇪 | Production: 850 bottles only | Hand-crafted
Overview A vintage 2021 Brut Sparkling made from the indigenous Tsitska grape, grown in the Imereti micro-zone of western Georgia. Crafted in the Méthode Traditionnelle (secondary fermentation in bottle) and entirely hand-made, this bottling combines Georgian heritage with sparkling finesse. (Educational note: Tsitska is one of Imereti’s classic white grapes, prized for its naturally high acidity — making it perfectly suited for sparkling wines.)
Aromas & Flavors Green apple, lemon zest, and white peach up front, joined by brioche, almond, and delicate floral notes. A mineral core runs through, giving precision and lift.
Mouthfeel Light to medium-bodied with fine, persistent bubbles. Crisp, dry, and refreshing, with balanced acidity leading to a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairings Ideal as an aperitif, or with oysters, sushi, grilled shrimp, and fried starters. Also pairs beautifully with Georgian cheeses like sulguni or imeruli.
Verdict A rare and artisanal sparkling wine — vintage 2021, hand-crafted, and made from Tsitska. With only 850 bottles produced, it is refined, elegant, and one of Georgia’s most exclusive sparkling expressions. 🍾
Did You Know? Tsitska is an indigenous Imeretian grape, traditionally used for still whites. Its high acidity makes it a natural fit for sparkling — but sparkling Tsitska is extremely rare, making this bottling a true landmark.
Collector’s Rarity 📌 Hand-crafted, single-vintage, indigenous grape, and only 850 bottles produced — Château Buera Brut Sparkling 2021 stands as both a rarity and a statement of Georgia’s modern innovation.
Hidden Gem 💎 This Tsitska-based sparkling wine blends Georgian terroir with Champagne-style winemaking, showing how tradition and innovation meet in the glass. — 12 days ago
Wonderful Georgian wine. Made in traditional clay pots. Dark amber in Color, high proof 15% and a bit effervescent. Tastes different than wine, but outstanding. — 5 months ago
Blend of indigenous varieties Tsitska (30%) and Tsolikouri (70%) from vineyards in the Imereti region in Western Georgia. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in qvevri. 2 weeks skin maceration. Elegant nose, some flinty notes. Great texture. One of the best Georgian wines I’ve had @rawwine — 2 years ago
