Skin contact white wine (Trebbiano, Malvasia, Verdicchio). Nose: coffee grounds, grapefruit. Taste: lemon, anise? Left crystallized (amber colored) sediment at the bottom of my glass. — 5 months ago
Opened at least an hour prior to service. The 2010 pours a burnished gold color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe apricots, candied yams, wet straw, rubber eraser, and all of the flowers. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. There’s a whole lotta soul here and it’s showing really well! Drink now through 2030+ — 6 months ago

Paolo Bea dinner at Semo. All wines were prepared by opening and slow-ox, prior to service. Abbreviated notes due to the setting. The 2020 Lapideus pours a hazy straw color with notes of undigested hay, black lemon, Brachs butterscotch, white and yellow flowers, and some tarragon. The palate shows low+ tannin and acid works well with the halibut crudo. Drink now through 2035. Bottle No. 800/2610 — 5 months ago

Really interesting white blend made by devout Cistercian sisters at Monastero Trappiste. Its a deep golden color, showing the 1 week of skin contact. Almost an orange wine. Herby and floral, smells like an aged autumn garden. Chamomile, almonds, and citrus notes. Unsurprisingly savory but still refreshing. (Btw- Love the label.) — a year ago

Tastes as good as a Chablis for half the cost — 8 months ago
2nd tasting of this vintage. Full body, this 100% Trebbiano di Lugana, from 50 years old vines shows a light golden color, nose of flowers and oak, on the palate it is rich and balanced. Went well with the grilled fish. — 10 months ago
Light, crispy, and smooth. Doesn’t taste like cheap wine, but affordable $15 — a year ago

Paolo Bea dinner at Semo. All wines were prepared by opening and slow-ox, prior to service. Abbreviated notes due to the setting. The 2015 Arboreus pours the color and cloudiness of urine after a 3 day bender with little hydration. Notes of bruised and battered Apple, dried stone fruit, white and yellow flowers, mushroom, damp hay, and nuts. Low tannin on the palate and good acid. Drink now through 2030+.
