Dry and juicy simultaneously. Slight funk. Some robust tannins. Getting dark berries and a hint of sour patch kids-esque flavors. Finished nicely though. Tony Coturri doesn't mess around. — 4 years ago
The 2015 Tendril ‘Tightrope’ Pinot Noir is a spectacular effort by the talented Tony Rynders. This is a limited production bottling which was aged for eighteen months in 50% new French oak prior to bottling. On the nose this takes on beautiful aromatic range from red and dark fruits to hints of cloves and black truffle shavings. The mouthfeel is downright seductive as layers of dark and red berries connect with earthy undertones and the toasty oak. While this has excellent mid-palate weight, there is also a seamless quality to the wine. The extremely long finish completes this gorgeous new wine. Delightful in its youth, this will continue to cellar well for the next fifteen to twenty years. Drink. 2019-2035- 94

Incredible! Rasiny, port-like, sherry-like, sour = my mouth is singing — 4 years ago
Tony and his wife Herta purchased 30 acres of land in the Napa Valley with the magic ingredient - location. With a splash of Malbec added, aromas of dark berry fruit and cigar box spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and raspberry with cacao, licorice and herb notes. Fine tannins, nice acidity, good balance on long finish ending with fruit and cedar notes. Drinking well now! — 4 years ago
Tangy and delicious just how I like it — 6 years ago
Stunning and complex. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Merlot, and Zinfandel from different vintages. Nose was concentrated, overtaken by port and fortified wine aromas in a good way. Low acidity and tannins. Jammy, strawberries and red fruit, hard candy. — 4 years ago
