Founder Nicky Hahn, grew up speaking German. In his native language, the word ‘Hahn’ means rooster, which is why a depiction of this bird has always graced the label of his wines. Aromas of dark fruits with sweet spice notes. On the palate Strawberry & Cherry with oaky notes, cacao and licorice. Fine focussed tannins, savory, lingering ending with mineral tones. — 9 years ago

Color is like liquid copper, amazing. Took about an hour to open, then nearly as good as upon release, nice acid, Loire Cab Franc, tart strawberry on the palate. One more bottle and we're clean out, loved this wine, only found it once. One of our favorite bottles, with a bird on it! — 9 years ago

Dark fruit forward, juicy blackberry, blueberry, and plum, underbrush and earth, resolved tannins and excellent lift. Wonderful. Maybe the best red I’ve had from the Finger Lakes. — 4 years ago

This was quite a surprise. While not the giant backbone you’d expect from a Cali cab, it had a nice Viscosity on the pallet and a longer finish. The tannins not fully integrated for its age, with a higher acidity level. Drank more like a Bordeaux blend. — 7 years ago
