Opened another recently, legendary wine, said that in the 18th century was introduced to Sultan of Constantinople's palace b/c of its clarity and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", defying Islamic law. Pale lemon with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green herbs and a crisp mineral edge. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit, citrus mineral character. Nice, aging well. — 5 years ago

161ème. 44% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, 19% Meunier. A blend of 134 wines spanning 12 years, the youngest being from 2005 and the oldest being from 1990. Cork received summer 2012.

One of my birthday wines. This didn’t drink as rich or opulent as some of the other blends I’ve had. Many of the usual notes were present - toasted nuts, caramel, burnt brown sugar, espresso, mocha - but in more restrained and balanced representations. Easy drinking, especially in the club lounge over dessert. — 7 years ago
