The Biker

Tenuta San Marcello

Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Porpora 2020

A lot of fun, especially if you take the cartoon biker on its label as its credo. Natural wine with chewy, fine grained &feral palate. Fills out to a more medium body of wild raspberries & blackberries, violets, & rose hips. , Some serious winemaking to back up the biker creed. — 4 years ago

Tenuta Caparzo

Vigna La Casa Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2004

Lots of leather and dried cherries in this one, almost like making out with a biker chick with cherry lipstick 😁 — 7 years ago

Mark Herold Wines

Herold Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Decided on a whim to open a big-boy cab tonight and reached for a bottle of 2012 Mark Herold Brown Label. At 15.3% alcohol this is indeed a huge wine, but I love it. Visited his tasting room in downtown Napa last year and was treated to a fabulous and fun tasting at his biker bar themed place. This wine is chocked full of crème de cassis, blackberry, and espresso flavors with a long gorgeous finish. It's 100% Cabernet. — 10 years ago

Not matching up to the others tonight. The Hibiki’s are crushing. That said. Now trying in a highball and it is dominating over the Nikka in the Barrel — 4 years ago

This is the kind of zin I enjoy. Nice fruit and not too tannic. — 7 years ago

Château Fourcas Hosten

Les Cedres d'Hosten Listrac-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Like a Hell's Angel without their bike: it's all about the leather and not much more. Unlike the biker, it's not too burly and quite attractive. — 8 years ago

Abbeye de Leffe

Radiuse Dark Strong Ale

I have searched high and low for the vuele cuvée version of Leffe and I happen to stumble upon it in a very American biker bar in Cadiz, Spain called Woodstock. Wow!! — 12 years ago

Leslie's Blend Estate Red Blend 2016

A biker that could be a ballerina. Total intimidating beast at this point but with some taming or time this could be a unicorn wine. — 6 years ago

Biker Bob's Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

My four year old insisted on smelling this Cab too and after several wiffs exclaimed :"Erdbeer!", Took another sniff and beamed: "bwackbewy!". Quite insightful.
I'd elaborate that it does indeed showcase those wonderous California ctrl coast big red and black fruit notes, with smooth tannins and madeirized cherry juice/red apple traces.

Pic & Chapoutier

St. Joseph Syrah 2010

Oil-black color! Holy smoky pepper! Grill-charred meat with rosemary! Leather and tobacco. Like a biker BBQ; smell the burnt dirt. Baked, soft, red, cinnamon apples emerge from beneath leather blankets to flash their round fruits to loud exultation! Pepper inculcates the palate, along with underripe dark plums and tobacco, smoke and a generous stripe of fruit tannin. This lil sonofabitch is a tough customer, blazing a trail through your Podunk town, Laing with your lady, and leaving skid marks all over your palate. — 12 years ago
