Super Tuscan blend of Merlot (75%) and Sangiovese (25%). Dark ruby/purple color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of dark cherry/berry fruit, forest floor, leather, graphite and wild herbs. Flavors of black cherry/berry and blueberry fruit, cola, tobacco and dark chocolate. Bit of vanilla on the long and drawn out finish. Firm, but well structured tannins and just enough acidity. Nose - Plum, candied orange, peat moss and wood. Mouthfeel - Velvety smooth up front, ending in a subtle pleasant astringency. Main flavors - Stone fruit and earth with a delicate acidic ending with a touch of dryness, like you get when you lick the pit of a nectarine, peach or plum. Overall - a gorgeously complex and lovely Pinot!! 1 million out of 10! — 2 months ago
