Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again.
(Notes this year were avoided, but scores are honest.)
1500ml; Bottle 58 of 104 — a day ago
Verdeca grape, puglia as never taste before. Unique! Nose and taste is full with mineral notes, subtle but very present and overwhelming pine tree notes, like walking through pine tree forests in 30 degree celsius Summer days. So fruity and herbal notes very present, too. Unbelievable and complex — 3 months ago
Initial very soy sauce nose. but the palate not that soy sauce just sour. after some decanting the nose less soy and palate improve but not wotn — 11 hours ago
In the heart of the Chianti lies Estate of Sette Ponti, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past village of San Giustino Valdarno. Has 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with blossom notes, spice and fine integrated tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Will age a bit! Tasting well now! — 2 months ago
2016: 50% Merlot Super Tuscan/Bordeaux blend with inky texture and highly concentrated mouth feel. After 3 hours the purple and blue fruit overtakes the (largely oak?) tannins and 15% alcohol and the wine really shows its thickness. Maybe a bit of a fruit bomb at this stage but menthol and a hint of leather keep some balance. Could be a star in 2-3 years. $60-65? — 4 months ago
Lighter color and body but surprisingly large tannins and flavors. Aromas of ripe plums, dark cherries and leather. Ripe cherry and Dr. Pepper flavors with some tobacco notes. Powerful with bracing acidity. Long finish with lots of tannin. Solid! Nicely aged. — a month ago
Look for this again … perfect Friday night after a looooong week — 3 months ago

A humble sparkler with lots to appreciate. So pretty in the glass. Flavors that linger around for a bit. Bone dry, full of fruit.
The bitter interesting sides of fruit we don’t think about too often.
Think thick white bitter pith of ruby red grapefruit. Dry, tart, sour raspberry funk, green strawberry. — 5 months ago
