Tenuta Prima Pietra

Bodegas Portia Prima

La Encina 2016

Deep ruby/purple/black color. Black raspberry and blueberry fruit on the nose with additional hints of tobacco, leather, dried herbs and smoke. Same combination of black and blue berry fruit on the palate along with notes of dark plum, dark chocolate, coffee and baking spices. Long and supple finish with very fine grained tannins and well balanced acidity. Medium bodied with a nice combination of power and depth. Thank you for the gift, John P. — 7 days ago

Pegasus Bay

Prima Donna Pinot Noir 2017

Intense, brooding, and complex nose. Dark cherry, plum, sandalwood, and charcuterie. The palate is med/full bodied, med acidity and delivers quite opulent sour cherry and plum fruit. Smoke and chocolate on the end palate. Very long. A bit heavy relative to a burgundy, but the flavour profile, complexity, and length do not disappoint. — 6 months ago

Bodegas y Viñedos Maurodos

Prima Toro Tempranillo-Garnacha Blend 2020

Initially gave a blast of bright red fruit and vanilla. 2 hours later, it had really hit its stride with the cherry melting into leather and long tannins. Excellent Toro value — 9 days ago

Obra Prima Reserva Malbec 2016

This is a very tasty six-year-old Malbec from Mendoza. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Showing black fruits with vegetables, light vanilla, spices, black olives, earth, bitter herbs, barnyard, wood, tobacco, dark coffee and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and soft tannins.

I had it before, and this time I had it right out of the bottle, and it was really nice.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a cheese plate.

A blend of 80% Malbec, 10% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Franc.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

89 points.
