New Oakville Vineyard wine from Michael & Andrea Savaiano. Michael is an Assistant Winemaker at Bevan Cellars. His approach mirrors that of Mentor Russell Bevan, with pure, concentrated up-front fruit. The wine is likely sourced from Tench, although Vineyard source is unconfirmed. Michael uses all 100% New French Oak including Taransaud Barrels! The wine spends 17 months in Barrel before bottling. Absolutely fabulous at this early stage for a 2018 Vintage. 2016 vintage. Absolutely stunning, wine of the night. Cassis, blue and black fruit. Strong graphite and minerality. Strength married with grace. Can’t wait to see this evolve, but it’s gonna be hard to wait. — 6 months ago
This wine is exceptionally smooth and fruit forward with relatively high residual sugar. I don’t know if it’s as magical as the 2016, but I’ve also recently been spoiled by the Bevan Tench EE Oakville. $99. — 2 years ago

The Tench slightly better than the Sugarloaf. But, did show some light alcohol burn. — a month ago
