Fresh, juicy & expressive.
Black currant, dark plum, some light, minty undergrowth, a bit of cassis.
Medium bodied on the palate with very fine yet grippy tannins, juicy, ripe. With a bit of creaminess to the fruit and an overall good flow.

Red currant, fruitcake, violet, cocoa, baking spice and oak. The wine is full-bodied, with supple tannins and a well integrated finish. On the palate: Goes well with fine steaks, like filet Mignon, It is a blend but at 70% Merlo , read the bottle for the other blend. Must try. 2016 — 5 years ago
Red berries prevail in the nose and in the color, good influence of Merlo. Dried tomatoes, steel. No oak, 2 weeks of maceration on grape skin. Good minerality - chalky soils, limestone feels in the nose. 13% abv — 8 years ago

Exceptional quality!! Blend is primarily Garganega that is rounded out with small amounts of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Trebbiano. Pale straw color. Plentiful aromas of tropical fruit, white flowers, wet slate and a light touch of smoke. Flavors of peach, cantaloupe, lemon zest and raw nuts. Beautiful volcanic mineral/saline thread on the long lasting and crisp finish. Medium bodied with a slightly waxy/mouth coating texture. Rich and savory. So hard to put down. This pale yellow wine has a fragrant nose with some grassy, herbal notes, although not as grassy as the Tiare. There is a nice floral element and some tropical fruit, too. The palate shows a great Sauvignon Blanc flavor profile - citrus, minerals, herbs - and an acidity which is pleasant enough without getting too crazy. I sometimes find Sauvignon to be a little much on the palate for my taste, but that is not the case with the Turriano. It is a very nice sip and wonderful match for rice or pasta dishes, especially those with an herbal flair to them. BTW, this wine is Friuli DOC. — 5 years ago

WOW. Absolutely fantastic port-style dessert wine. The flavors imparted from the barrel aging are really amped up but not unbalanced, it almost drinks like a port finished bourbon. Beautiful caramel brown color, stewed prune, fig and date on the nose, which transfers directly to the palate along with a thick, creamy vanilla note with a touch of barrel char. Blend of Corvina (54%), Rondinella (29%), Cabernet Sauvignon (14%) along with trace amounts of Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Merlot and Croatina. Dark and murky ruby color with black highlights. Fragrant aromas of red and black fruit, wild herbs and flowers, freshly turned soil and cocoa powder. Deep flavors of black berry/cherry fruit, pomegranate, tobacco, dark chocolate, black licorice and sweet spices. Lovely mineral backbone on the long, lingering and savory finish. Full bodied, rich, concentrated and plush due to the fact that this wine is produced in the appassimento style. Incredible balance. Tannins are soft and well integrated, and the acidity (though present) is in check. Outstanding! Thanking Kase and Pete for making Father’s Day 2026 very special by serving this gem. — 8 days ago
