2010 vintage. Just starting to enter Phase Two of life. Knitting together rather well with consistent nose/flavors of spiced plum, beef stock and baking chocolate. Medium body. Smoothish and unified except for a small, unripe berries hiccup in the center palate. Expecting this to resolve in the next few years but will taste for it next visit. 2.20.23 — 2 years ago
An intriguing wine full of ripe red berries, sour cherries, baking spices, rounded by some earthy undertones. — 4 years ago
The 2018 is out! The 2018 is out! On the downside, the price went up $5 to $25. On the plus side this is the best in several vintages so stock up! Lots of lush cherry fruit backed up by tar, mushroom, and leather. Just fantastic. As an aside, this is one of my favorite go-to wines and one of the best values out there each year hands down. But the low ratings just baffle me. Rate the wine quality my friends, not whether the wine is your thing. — 5 years ago
From the cellar - a little too cold on this cold night. More spice than the usual white and black pepper. Dried meat. See previous Delectable notes. An incredible Show Record:- Good Wine Guides Best Shiraz and Wine of the Year in 2011 - 98 points from Nick Stock. Giving more on the 2nd night. Incredible length of flavour - goes on and on. This has always been one of my favourite Australian Red Wines and I have tried to buy it on a regular basis but it has become very expensive (over $200) - no doubt because of its impeccable quality. Northern Rhone in style. Only 400 cases made. — 4 months ago
Drinking beautifully with our short rib. Great bottle and aged just fine. Fruit all there with a lot of elegance — 5 years ago
Really excellent. Smooth rich earth flavors. Would stock up. — a year ago
Cubillo is a beautiful anomaly in a sea of $25 wines.
It’s the youngest of the lot, but the signature stamp is there, so obviously LDH Tempranillo.
Velvet milk chocolate, ripe black cherries, brand new leather boots. Rich and loaded with cocoa and coffee and raisiny red berries.
It looks like motor oil. Heck it has almost a decade in bottle. Plenty of acid to smooth out over time.
We should be stock piling this - quality and price don’t intersect so well very often. — 3 years ago
Low yield production that’s hard to come by. For anyone that’s visited laughing stock you can appreciate this wine with the unique process of fermentation. Vibrant aromas and deep rich color with a silky palate. Last bottle 😞 — 5 years ago
