Very bright, and juicy up front. Nice smooth tannins, with notes of dark berry and touches of spice. Nice!

Petrificus totalus. That’s a Harry Potter spell that slightly resembles the name of this wine. It fully binds the body. As this full-bodied red did to me. You may notice I rated a bottle tonight already. Already tonight? Grammar? Well guess what? “ANOTHA ONE” - DJ Khaled.

Nice easy drinking red. Good table wine. Exactly what you’d seek in one. Tastes better than it smells.

The 2016 is out. It’s real and it’s spectacular. The past couple vintages have been enjoyable but a notch below. This one knocks it out of the park but it has to be your thing. Shows TONS of leather, mushroom, bacon fat. Lingering finish of iron. There quite simply is no better value out there than Pontificis - even in down years. Period. $7 at Trader Joe’s. Stock up!

Trader Joe's, $8

Good balance of dryness and acidity. More spice than fruit and pretty drinkable, good table wine but nothing really stands out. Just a decent dryish wine.
