The 2015 ROCO ‘RMS’ is a sterling blend of 70% Pinot Noir with the remainder Chardonnay. This beautiful wine saw some extended bottle aging before disgorgement. Coming from this warm vintage in the Willamette Valley, the wine shows a bright bouquet of baked apple, kumquat and sourdough bread that all line the slightly saline laced nose. The palate shows really good range and complexity which makes it simply irresistible in its youth. The bright acidity and saline edge combine with gorgeous citrus zest and Japanese pear flavors that all mingle once in the mouth. Another stunning success, this beautiful wine has a long journey left in the cellar. Drink 2019-2034- 94 — a month ago
Very berry. — 2 days ago
A Conn Creek neighbor for this particular vineyard.
Nose has cherry/plum liquor, dried citrus rind, charred oak, rain-soaked soil, spring green herbs, mocha-coffee and toasted graham cracker.
Palate has cedar-infused black currant, plum skin, earthy and dirty wet leather and mild tannins.
Paired with a wonderfully grilled t-bone tonight.
This bottle easily has several years to go, enjoyed in it's youth tonight for sure. Future bottles can be 2020-2023 without concern.
For me, this wine is reminiscent of many 90's vintages of Sterling (SVR) wines that we have enjoyed over the years, minty cigar box, just wonderful. — 6 days ago
