Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout Beer

Rich, chocolatey, syrupy, light hop bitterness on finish. Much to like; it defines the stout style — 2 months ago

B. Leighton

Gratitude Olsen Brothers Vineyard Red Blend 2014

9.4

Tasted the B. Leighton at K Vintners. B. Leighton is made by Charles's Smith's Wine Director Brendon Leighton made in conjunction with Charles. On the notes, sweet blue fruits and mixed dark berries leap out of the glass. Spices, loamy soils, dark florals and purple florals. The palate is M body with just M+ tannins. It starts with ripe, elegant, blue fruits, blackberries, dark cherries, plum, black raspberries, strawberries and again the heat intensity spices overlay the fruits. Loamy soils, soft volcanic soils, black tea, violets, red rose petals, perfect round acidity and lean, elegant, beautiful Burgundian finish. Really enjoyed all the nuances this wine offered. — 7 years ago

Pale Ale

GV
9.0

Samuel Smith's Organic Pale Ale is a nice pint. Amber coloured with a good but not over frothy bread. Bready, malty, and with a hint of caramel complimented by light carbonation.
A good traditional pale ale from one of England's oldest and finest brewers.

James Berry Vineyard Syrah 2013

After we had the arbor roberts' griffi's lair, the friendly somm at Bowery meat co recommended this red. Always great to have wine from Justin Smith's vineyard and this is made by someone who worked with him at Saxum. Rich, dense, plush, and the complexity and acidity I associate with this vineyard. — 8 years ago

Charles Smith

M.C.K. (Motor City Kitty) Syrah 2014

Mmm.. single vineyard Syrah named after Charles Smith's cat.. and for good reason - this thing purrrrrs. The nose is awesome and screams old world Syrah - roasted herbs, jalapeño, black licorice, mushroom, brambly black fruit and mint, all enveloped by waves of hickory smoke and charcoal. Seductively smooth and inviting on the palate. Not overtly heavy, but packs just the right amount of punch with some soft minerality and refreshing acidity. Great wine, well worth the money. — 7 years ago

Organic Perry Sparkling Pear Cider

Haven't had perry in awhile but I do love a good one. Crisp, full, clean, with moderate ginger and a little yeasty fluffiness — 8 years ago
