Ad Vivum Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Inky in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cedar, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, light earth and black pepper.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruit forward on the palate with black currants, blackberries, cedar, cola, vanilla, spices, espresso, light herbs, chocolates and peppercorn

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This 6 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now, and very approachable right out of the bottle.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet is powerful and spicy. Fruit forward and elegant. Easy drinking and good by itself as a sipping wine.

Feels young, but already delicious, and will continue to age nicely in the 10 years and beyond.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in (70% new) French oak barrels for 20 months.

14.4% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Pretty nose of blueberries, blackberries, plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs, spices, chocolates and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, black tea, peppercorn and espresso.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Soft, rich and elegant. Fruit forward, easy drinking and not in your face kind of wine.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime, which I didn't have this time.

This 9 year old will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and paired nicely with grilled Lamb chops.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in (70% new) French oak barrels for 20 months. A small production of 7,200 bottles.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

Kinsman Eades

Anjea Sleeping Lady Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

2018 Kinsman Eades Anjea… admittedly very young and still a little tannic, but unfurled a bit after time in the glass with a great nose and flavors of blackberries, blueberry pie, black cherries.. a hint of iron and herbs in the background! This will only get better with time! Even better the following day!! — 2 years ago

Macchia

Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel 2022

A truly representation of an Old Vine Zin (Mohr Fry) from Acampo, Lodiis all about. Made out of 90+ year-old vines which provides a great amount of concentrated ripe cherry and abundance rich ripen red fruit flavors. Persistent and lingering to perfection point on the finish. Although is 15.8% abv, is warm with enough balance and structure. Oaky can be perceived medium-low as well. One of the top dogs of Macchia wines. — 8 months ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2009

Quite nice with a distinctive brioche overtone. Full and round, May still need a few years. Been feeling lately like more distinctive profiles in the grower champs vs the big dogs (at big dog $$). — 2 years ago

Ultreia Saint Jacques Mencía 2018

very confused 🙈 tasting.

black olives and black pepper screamed syrah. red fruit and jaminess called for granache. but medium + acidity added confusion.

i was gambling a south rhone blend but something felt very Spanish. 🧩

this is mostly mensia 🍇 with bastardo and granache tintorera.

medium + acidity
medium - tannins
medium + body

zippy fresh red fruit with some raspberry jam, black olives, black pepper and a bit of oak spices and green pepper on the side.

medium + 🎯

perfect bistro (or the Spanish equivalent term) wine.
paired lovely with roasted 🥔, veggie hot dogs and cabbage with tahini and feta style cheese.
worked great with the salty feta.

2 hours later it opened up nicely with tannins felt more and a silkier texture.

very hard to stop drinking it, slowly.
