Sicily Nero D'avola

Cantine Francesco Minini

Villa Pozzi Nero d'Avola 2017

Not one of the best Nero D’Avola wines I’ve had. Smells delicious and has great color but a bit too acidic for me. Bummer... may need another year or two — 10 days ago

Sherazade Sicilia Nero d'Avola 2017

A sipper right out of the bottle, this wine is impressively balanced with a gorgeous nose. Not dry, not jammy; excellent with cheeses/charcuterie or a bowl of veg-forward pasta. $17.99 — 11 days ago

Pithos Rosso Vittoria Nero d'Avola Frappato 2016

Awesome wine. Drank over three days. First two, an elegant well balanced wine that tastes like a Nebbiolo but without heavy tannins. Has more body than a 12% al wine would suggest. Various berries esp strawberries. But in an elegant style. Really like this. I think this is a clay-stored wine? Forgot the term. Btw, not so great day three. — 2 hours ago

Sicilia Nero d'Avola 2017

Kris F

Beautiful red color. Bold flavors with subtle tannins. Lots of fruit notes (cherry, blackberries) and slightly drier than I was expecting for the variation (thank god!). It is very drinkable, a good substitute for Pinot Noir or Malbec. Approachable for beginning drinkers who can’t tolerate full-bodies Cabs or Merlots yet. I sense it will be delicious with steak! — 6 days ago

Santa Cecilia Noto Nero d'Avola 2010

Medium intensity on the nose, blackberry, blueberry, stewed plum, burnt sugar/candy licorice, touch of leather. Well-balanced, with silky tannins. Drink now, little potential for further aging. — 6 days ago

Sicilia Nero d'Avola 2015

Feudo Maccari

Saia Sicilia Nero d'Avola

Very fresh aromas of red berries, summer flowers, and touch of sweet herbs on the nose. Dark but brighr ruby red color together with lively flavors of raspberry, mulberry, and hint of spice on the palate. Medium-to-full-bodied with vibrant acidity, decent amount of tannins, and medium length on the finish. Fruity, very refreshing, and good value. — 12 days ago

Nero D'avola Noto

Ripe red fruit, spices, pepper, and an earthy touch. Smooth, refreshing and one that changed in the glass (for the better). — 5 days ago
