Really enjoyable Syrah. This is a crazy nose of herbs, black fruit, burgundian profile with a hint of grilled meat. The competition was tough in the perspective of it being enjoyed alongside a Cayuse Bionic Frog, SQN B20, a Long Shadows Sequel, and a Chave L'Hermitage but it held up to the competition IMO and was no less or more capable than any of them. Entry is dark yet very rounded. Middle with even a bit of cocoa nit dark and black. A little bit of tar. Finished with good acid and grip. This can go another 5 to 7 years easy, maybe even 10. Nice nice syrah. My thoughts on this wine have scored it as low as 92 and as high as 96. Really awesome QPR when considering what it was up against! Nice wine @Shay A ! — 6 years ago
Acidity with a capital"A." Not entirely what I'd expected. Definite Muscat on the nose but very Riesling-sequel on palate - with floral notes — 10 years ago
Tang-sequel coloration with perfect equilibrium and crown persistence. Wig white, even dissipation reminiscent of fine cigar burn. Striating lacing of cartoon chompers and snowy tangle of wildwood. Pleasant malty and citrus interplay punctuated by oranges and pink grapefruit wild strawberry tart with caramel and sweet tobacco and Turkish coffee from a distance. Paisley lacing ensues. Lemon oils and candied grapefruit peel frame a tangerine occurrence and sparkly mineral stardusting, and a textural approximation of peaches that adds pliancy. After the initial fruit, and subsequent sips your mouth builds up the bitter units to tangible topography that lingers. Overall, a well crafted and thoughtfully restrained offering from an iconic producer. You can sense that they wanted to get this one right. Lacing remnants: gothic text with horror overtones on one side, middle command graphics, and a t-Rex-alligator-puma logo for your new pumped up kicks. .

Compared to the Bionic Frog, SQN B20, High Rock, and Sequel syrahs this one was enjoyed with, it seemed as though this one definitely had a bit more age on it than being a 2011 vintage. Completely different style. Amazingly soft, rounded and integrated for 2011 vintage. Hint of meat but rounded black fruit and spice. Like all of these wines enjoyed, it deserved a table of it's own. Immense structure here. This one seems to JUST be starting to come out of the gate. — 6 years ago
One of my faves. I ordered two half bottles - imagine my delight when I received two full bottles at the half bottle price. — 11 years ago
Ah the original... Alway better than the sequel. — 6 years ago
Served at The Bird as well during the meal. I had luck with these wines in the past. I think Termes is a better short term drinker than Numanthia is a long term holder. Lots of roasted black fruit on the front and middle, this one just doesn't have the finish or structure. Could this be in an odd place? Surely. Not really decanted for that long before serving, but the Sequel dispatched of it rather quickly both in flavor and complexity. The more I think about it, there is a 2 point difference in the 2 wines. — 6 years ago
Sylvia and fellow crop of woman winemaker should be sequel to Barolo Boys. 100% nebbiolo. Tart rusty taste. Fiat workers used to take the wrong turn and bought wine from her father in the 70s — 7 years ago

Sierra Foothills: 61% Tempranillo, 26% Graciano, 13% Syrah. Well, this is the Tempranillo sequel to SRR. Wow, another good one by Tank. — 3 years ago
