See previous tasting notes from a year ago and 2 others earlier than that. All 3 notes quite comprehensive and nothing really further to add. I would emphasise generally how great aged Hunter Valley Semillon is. As Jancis said, Australia’s gift to the World of Wine. Lime and Lemon, Beeswax, Wet Straw, Lanolin. Still has an inner core of strength which will see it through for more years. More honey and toasty development to come. Most tasters would not pick this as 14 years old. Loved it. Went well with fresh Pacific Oysters. 10.5%ABV. — 7 months ago
Light lemon-hued. Aromas of apple, bell pepper, citrus, and cream. Medium-light body with medium-plus acidity. Creamy mouthfeel on the palate with a light, bright finish. 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. — 2 years ago
Initial aromas of passion fruit. 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Semillon. Grassy and herbal notes. Quite delicate. A guava note on the palate. Only 35% new oak which is totally integrated. So refreshing and balanced. I have previous Delectable notes which were also praiseworthy. — 4 days ago
Classic semillon on the nose, but a lovely balanced chalk and dried lemon palate — 2 years ago
The ‘22 Karatas from Bedrock is a Bordeaux blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc from their eponymous vineyard. Pale gold with a nose full of honeysuckle and orchard fruit. That’s backed by mouth-filling melon and pear with a noticeable backbone. Excellent. — 4 months ago
Light lemon colour . Beeswax , lemongrass , lemon peel on the nose. On the palate good body, with lemon and lime notes , beeswax and a herbaceous tinge . Still fresh acidity , this comes across as really quite young still, without the honied, toasty notes you expect with age . Still quite light on its feet, elegant and relatively lean . The length is ok , and perhaps lacks a little intensity on the mid palate , but for the basic Semillon this shows well . Drink now and over the next 10 years — 4 months ago
A fabulously unique wine is the 2020 Rocking Horse white blend from Thorne & Daughters, a blend of Semillon, Roussanne, Chardonnay, Chenin & Clairette. It has full bodied but fresh aromas, a medley of zesty and tropical fruits and a good deal of burnt butter. The palate is quite soft in acidity, no doubt from the high proportion of Semillon, but is a gorgeous balance of fruit, herbs, chamomile and elderflower, with a long finish. This was a superb match for chicken in a cream and Madeira sauce. — 8 months ago
