Schloss Johannisberg

Silberlack Großes Gewächs Trocken Riesling 2014

Gorgeous wine with a touch of oak and sweetness (no residual sugar). Elegant smooth and delicious. No acidic fruit or overwhelming fruit. Just good — 5 days ago

Schloss Lieser

Lieser Niederberg Helden Spätlese Riesling 2010

An iconic wine.

Nose is closed. Peach flowers.

Palate: crunchy confectionary sugar made of dried peaches. Completing acidity. Insane.

Thomas Haag Trocken Riesling 2019

My last bottle of this and truly wish I had another case. Cheese rind and rich stone fruit. No slowing down for this beauty of a value at $19 on the shelf. Would kill to try another bottle in 2, 3, 5, and 7 years! — 14 days ago

Schloss Johannisberg

Gelblack Trocken Riesling 2021

Entry-level wine from this renowned Rheingau estate. Riesling from their 20 hectares of vineyards overlooking the Rhine, first planted in 817 supposedly on the orders of Charlemagne, and replanted with Riesling since 1720. Aged for four months on the lees. Intense nose, with tropical fruit (ripe pineapple, passion fruit ) and stone fruit aromas. Round, quite ripe, subtle tropical flavors. Good length. — 7 months ago

Grünlack Spätlese Riesling 2021

A Delicious sweet Riesling from Germany.

Sweet on the palate with high acidity.

Balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Feels more like a Gewürztraminer.

Not as sweet as I expected. Really gorgeous.

93 points.

Schloss Gobelsburg

Gobelsburger Kamptal Riesling 2020

Melón, some citrus, slight hint of butter, on the nose. Smooth with very moderate tannins, medium finish. Paired well with the classic cabbage and sausage German dish. Would definitely have again! — 4 months ago
