Color of concentrated black tea, a bit copper tone. Nose of crayon, alcohol spice, fermented grains, and strength of alcohol. Taste is amazingly smooth, with chocolate, sweet baked apple, sherry , and mineral note, silky, and a bit gasoline note, I have no clue how you make a 100 proof this smooth. — 8 years ago
It's Blanton's, proofed up to 103. Being a single barrel, Blanton's is consistently good but not consistently great. This bottle is well above average. It smells and tastes like something from the Van Winkle bourbon lineup. Dark cherry, apricot, leather, cigar box. Much more pleasing than last years bottle. I thought the Gold used to be in a skinnier 700ml bottle, but this is 750ml. Maybe I'm losing it 🤔

Brown sugar bourbon. Completely delicious, as long as you like alcoholic brown sugar syrup. I imagine this would be best over a brownie with ice cream. — 7 years ago
