Castello di Neive

Santo Stefano Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2011

Had an Italian Wine tasting last week and ordered this Barbaresco for dinner. Wow. Piedmont has to be the #1 region in Italy. So good earthy, tomato on the nose, and long beautiful finish. YUM — 10 days ago

Podere Rocche dei Manzoni

Vigna Cappella di Santo Stefano Barolo Nebbiolo 2011

Colour is already slightly brownish. But still a very fresh Barolo. Very firm Tannins, good acidity, spices and leather and an endlessy long fruit. Fantastic — a month ago

Bruno Giacosa

Santo Stefano Di Neive Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1997

Reddish tawny color and mostly translucent. Obvious Nebbiolo nose with notes of tea, roses, pepper, some anise and a hint of tar. Seductive in the mouth but still has some edge to it. Good finish. Great pair tonight with homemade pasta and sauce. — 20 days ago

Cuvée delle Vigne Niche Santo Spirito Etna Bianco White Blend 2019

This was a great find. I’ve had their reds, but never their white. Great body. Minerals and honeycomb, with hints of Meyer lemon. This was so good now, and looking forward to one with some age. — 22 days ago

Vintage Port 1911

Tasted blind. Reddish tawny, thin and very old looking. Notes of brown sugar, molasses, some wood. Medicinal. In the mouth it’s different than what I expected. Tastes like Port, but looks and smells like Madeira. Someone guesses Vin Santo. But based on the taste I go with old Port. — 7 days ago
