Kick-On Ranch Riesling 2019

One of the best american Rieslings out there. The Riesling was planted in 2007. Kick On Ranch is just a few miles West of Los Alamos (CA) , getting close to the ocean and Vandenberg Air Force Base. 120 cases. 13.5%. Plenty of acidity, 🍯 , botyris? , fresh cut garden hose. Quite herbal. Oregano. Tatomer’s top of the line offer. He learned the trade in Austria 🇦🇹, Wachau region. This 2019 is very very good. Not Mosel just different - and perhaps quintessential Californian. — 18 days ago

Peeps say Smith-Madrone but no. Just no. I'll stick with Graham's whites.

@Delectable - this PN is from different regions in CA but it showed seamlessly. guess i was ready to dislike this as mass produced plonk, but i was pleasantly surprised: inky w/cherries galore on the nose but also some tea & sassafras, bit of earthiness too - smooth on palate, generous, silky and balanced leading to decent finish. there is no distinct terroir and it's primarily fruit driven but it hit the spot on a weeknight and offers solid QPR — 23 days ago

Hartley-Ostini Hitching Post

Highliner Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2021

I couldn’t pass up picking up a bottle of the “Sideways” 20th anniversary bottling of Hitching Post’s Highliner. Aside from the movie recognition, it’s a damn good Pinot, though a bit heavier in style than others. Vivid, fresh flavors of cranberry and cherry with a bit of spice. Delicious. Fruit sourced from three different vineyards in Santa Barbara County. 100% Pinot Noir. 4/28/25. — a month ago
