One of my favorite wines ever. Tressalier and Chardonnay blend. Nose is rich and buttery like and old school Meursault but has so much sea air mineral expression it’s unreal. Gorgeous. Palate is stunning if a bit young. This needs air but the bones are there. Juicy, clean, pure, rich, like a Meursault but super fresh and textured. So elegant and dense. What a wine. Let’s see what air does. Getting nutty as well. 9.4 to 9.5 overnight. Stunning today. Fresh, textured and energetic. Icing on cake texture and so pure. Almost a 9.6. — 2 months ago

Incredible vintage for Lachaux. With even more clarity and definition than the ripe 2018 rendition, 2019 Les Proces is gorgeous tonight, explosively aromatic, and showing incredible purity, elegance and finesse. The palate is pure silk, with minerality and verve and serious depth for a village wine. Magical things happening at this Domaine. Bravo Charles Lachaux. — 3 years ago

2017 vintage. @ Mister A’s Restaurant, San Diego-Les Caves de St. Charles CDP dinner. Initially, an absolute ballbuster. Massive tannins with a modicum of velveteen fruit at the end of a long tunnel. After two hours? Surprise! Change partners and the nearsome, fearsome tanninfest coalesced into the velveteen fruitfest. Remarkable concentration, tho, from start to finish over the course of the dinner. Best newer-vintage CDP, out of roughly 200, that I’ve had in the last two years. Just a remarkable chameleon. Supposedly 50/50 Grenache/Syrah. Worth the hunt. 11.16.23. — 2 years ago
