The texture hits first with this soft, silky, voluminous but not weighty Garnacha. The nose is peppery and slightly reserved but the plate explodes with tart red cherry juice and red licorice- SO transparent. And the tannins are so fine they actually add pleasure. Totally unique, world-class wine.

Had my first bottle a couple months ago,
Great nose to it, but give it more time. This is no mega purple loaded Austin Hope. Real wine needs real time.
TEMPRANILLO
60% new French Oak
Coming from the original 2007 planting on our vineyard, rumor has it this big, rich, tannic clone of Tempranillo was backpacked in from Spain...but you didn't hear it from us. With a chalky mineral mouthfeel, it's complex aromatics will keep you guessing on what the — 5 years ago

Just stop and look at this thing. Look how gorgeous it is. It’s so pretty I almost don’t want to drink it. Almost. Beautiful effervescence and an instant burst of fresh fruit aromas. Strawberries and cream with raspberry jam. Lychee and dried herbs, mild spice and a fair bit of kumquat for good measure.
One of the Masters of Meunier and it shows. It always shows. Brilliant acidity though understated compared to his wines with lower dosages. 100% Pinot Meunier from Festigny and full of unique personality and character. 50/50 from the 2017 and 2018 vintages, this is youthful and fresh with lively minerality. Very lean and mean while still remaining generous.
On the palate, this distinguishes itself from other rosé bubbles. The antithesis of a lifeless, limp, and limpid wine. Thrilling in the mouth, the red fruits announce their presence. Red cherries and orange slices. A rumor of smoke and the whisper of tobacco. A long, magnanimous finish that truly leaves you wanting. I’ll drink another bottle just because. — 3 years ago
Pours a nice purple with even, narrow legs that reflect the 14.5% abv. Nose has berry and licorice. Taste notes have berry, nice acid, oak and some sweet chocolate. I paid too much at $16, rumor has it this can be found at Costco at $10. Will purchase again. — 4 years ago
honeysuckle, green pair, rumor of white raisin, whisper of effervescence, unction junction — 4 years ago
Baked apple, nashi pear, smoky lime and lemon oils, pineapple, sponge cake, dragonfruit-kiwi, lemon curd, and grilled Hawaiian pork operating in the nozzle. Delicate, lime awash in ocean water, vanilla oil, white cherry, white raspberry, No 1 pencil, mineral-y anise rumor, white pepper and lotus. Such a smooth transition from an obvious nose to sublimity. #calvados #appelationcalvadoscontrôlée #marquisdesaintloup #marquisdesaintloupselection #coudrayrabut #applebrandy #brandy — 5 years ago

I heard a rumor that there’s a competition between DRC and Jean-Michel Guillon when it comes to the amount of new French oak used. While I can’t substantiate that, I can confirm that the oak used for this bottle smells expensive and it certainly seems to work in Guillon’s favor because this is a really tasty treat. The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin “VV” pours a deep ruby with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart red fruits: Bing cherry, strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, porcini, dry forest floor, and beautiful balance of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and absolutely delicious. I tend to be fearful of liberal use of oak but in the end, I try not to judge if the wine is in balance and in this case, it most certainly is. Drink now through 2036+. — 3 months ago
