Low in tannins, smooth finish Went well with both our rockfish and petit filet. Berries on th nose. Cherries. Better with the fish, but works with the meat. — 4 years ago
Excellent!! Full mouth feel, with a little kick at the back of the throat. At Rockfish w D&S for C’s 70th. — 5 years ago
Wow. Like this! Baking rockfish with capers and lemon (in oil and butter ) because that’s who I am. — 5 years ago
Killer dry Riesling. Complex yet elegant, wonderful acidity, paired perfectly with rockfish in butter and lemon. — 6 years ago
Golden color. Medium body, completely dry and high acidity. Layers of citrus reminiscent of grapefruit, orange peel and underripe pineapple. Bitter notes of blanched almond or hazelnut. Like a leaner version of amontillado sherry. Probably not for everyone. It went very well with black cod and rockfish for dinner. — 7 years ago
Light, good with rockfish for dinner — a year ago
2019 was somewhat nutty and fresh vanilla and baked apple fruit? A good pairing with lighter fare, farm fresh artichoke shavings with fennel then rockfish with roasted sun chokes and blood oranges. Nice finish but not long. Lovely. — 3 years ago
Love it. This chard pleases me because it almost completely lacks the typical chard "butter toffee" note. Balanced sharp mineral acidity and smooth fruit. Had it with grilled rockfish and buttered ciabatta. — 6 years ago
Very nice combination of grapes, Mellon, lemony, pears and honey. Went well with rockfish fillets. 2016 — 6 years ago
This is another terrific wine from William Allen. Slightly honeyed nose with a chalky note that comes through on the palate as well. Add apricot, quince, and wildflowers and you have a delicious wine. I paired this with some Maryland Rockfish and the match was a hit. — 7 years ago
Vintage 2009 | How nice it is to find bottles that were forgotten... this eleven years old Riesling got a colour and impressions of honey, it is very comforting and vibrant. Riesling can amaze me, time after time. | Paired with rockfish in mustard sauce — 6 years ago
i LOVED this guy. pinkish, light viscosity, smells BRINEY and funky, but tastes sooooo lovely, refreshing with a wonderful finish. paired beautifully with rockfish — 8 years ago
